Patients will be able to access urgent care provision from their registered GP practice on  Friday 10th & Monday 13th of April. Practice phone lines will be open from 8am to 6.30pm on these days.

Coronavirus update 30/3/2020

Given the impact of coronavirus there will be changes to the way we work. We will no longer be booking appointments in advance, please call on the day you need to be seen and you will be assessed by telephone. If you already have a routine GP appointment booked but wish to avoid the surgery please inform reception and they will cancel your appointment.

Due to on-going precautions, we have taken the decision to restrict access to the practice buildings in order to protect both patients and staff. We are continuing to deal with requests over the phone and are only seeing patients for face to face treatment where absolutely necessary.

Please note; as patients have an understanding of their own health needs and how to manage them, we are not able to provide advice to patients regarding self-isolation at this time. We are directing all patients to the 111 online service for any queries they may have or suggesting that patients discuss their concerns with their employers.

We are also unable to offer Med 3 certificates just for isolation. There is guidance for employers available online. Unfortunately we cannot be of further assistance with these matters.

The situation is changing quickly and further updates will occur as required.

Requests for repeat medication can be made through Prescription Ordering Direct on 01553 605728 or via email to westnorfolkccg.prescriptionrequests@nhs.net.

Please do not attend the surgery if you suspect you may have coronavirus. This is for the protection of our most vulnerable patients. Please isolate yourself at home and see: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

If for any reason you need to request a sick note for your employer due to the current COVID-19 guidance of having to self isolate for 14 days please see the below link to find out how you need to request this: https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note.

Dispensary

Due to current staffing issues within our dispensary we will now be running the opening hours of 09:00-17:00. With the dispensary closed between 13:00-14:00 for lunch. You will still be able to hand in your repeat prescription request into the surgery during the normal surgery hours of 08:00 - 18:30.

Electronic prescriptions

We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically from 23rd March 2020.

Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money.

You will receive your prescriptions in the same way as you do now.

Smoking Cessation

We have 5, level 2 smoking cessation advisors. We can see people from any surgery, they do not have to be registered with us to access our expertise.

We offer one-to-one appointments with our trained staff to discuss your options and advice in achieving your Quit.

We are working in conjunction with Addenbrooks University and Cancer Research to offer participation in the IQuit study to offer further advice and support in your quit attempt. We are one of the top 5 recruiters in the area for this study.

On average we help 35% of people we see to achieve a Quit for longer than 4 weeks and this is double than if you had no support in your quit attempt.

So far since we started providing this service we have seen 380 people and helped 135 achieve their Quit.

Contact us on 01553 819472 or speak to a trained member of the dispensary team.

Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on Wednesday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturday). Appointments will take place at Southgates Medical Centre. Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or book an appointment.
